Housing Support
Our Housing Support Program empowers and supports people when faced with renting for the first time, learning how to manage a tenancy or who may be facing other challenges or crisis.
Murchison Region Aboriginal Corporation provides housing support with a staff member specifically dedicated to this program. As we are sensitive to changing circumstances, we make this program available to existing and new tenants as well as other clients who may be experiencing housing-related stress.
We work with you and your individual situation to establish achievable goals and agree on how they can be met. We actively follow up with you regularly to see your progress and adjust the plan based on how you are going. Our focus is to help you develop your skills to manage your tenancy independently for the long term. We can also suggest referrals to outside agencies to assist with other situations if needed.
For clients not housed with MRAC, practical support is also provided to access either MRAC or other suitable housing options.
You can self-refer to be part of our Housing Support Program or your Housing Manager may suggest that you participate in the program.
